Since 1992, Seix Investment Advisors has been focused exclusively on managing fixed income securities. George Goudelias
Managing Director, Head of Leveraged Finance, Senior Portfolio Manager
Industry Start Date: 1987
George Goudelias is managing director and head of leveraged finance at Seix Investment Advisors, an affiliated manager of Virtus Investment Partners. Mr. Goudelias is responsible for strategic oversight of Seix’s high yield bond portfolio management activities and is the senior portfolio manager of all leveraged loan portfolios.
Mr. Goudelias joined Seix in 2001 as head of leveraged finance research, and subsequently launched the Leveraged Loan strategy in 2005. His responsibilities have since expanded to include all leveraged loan portfolios and collateralized loan obligations (CLOs). Prior to joining Seix, Mr. Goudelias was a senior high yield research analyst at J.P. Morgan Securities.
Mr. Goudelias earned a B.S. in finance and accounting and an M.B.A. in finance from New York University. He has worked in investment management since 1987.
Perry Troisi
Managing Director, Head of Investment Grade, Senior Portfolio Manager

Perry Troisi is a managing director and head of investment grade at Seix Investment Advisors, an affiliated manager of Virtus Investment Partners, where he focuses on corporate, government-related and securitized (residential mortgage-backed, commercial mortgage-backed, and asset-backed securities) asset classes. Mr. Troisi is responsible for strategic oversight of Seix’s investment grade bond portfolio management activities and is the senior portfolio manager of all investment grade (taxable) portfolios. He is also a member of the Seix Investment Policy Group.
Before joining Seix in 1999, Mr. Troisi was a portfolio manager at GRE Insurance Group, where he was responsible for all North American fixed income assets within the group. Prior to that, he was a portfolio manager and analyst at Home Insurance Company, focused primarily on mortgage-backed securities. Mr. Troisi began his career as an account analyst at Goldman, Sachs & Company.
Mr. Troisi earned a B.S. in economics and computer coordinate with economics from Trinity College and an M.B.A. in finance from New York University. He has worked in the investment management industry since 1986.
Dusty Self
Managing Director, Head of Tax-Exempt, and Senior Portfolio Manager

Dusty Self is a managing director and head of tax-exempt at Seix Investment Advisors, an affiliated manager of Virtus Investment Partners.
Before attaining her current position, Ms. Self worked as a portfolio specialist, and then as a performance analyst. Prior to beginning her career in investment management with Seix’s predecessor firm, she worked for Barnett Bank in the commercial loans division.
Ms. Self earned a B.S. in business management from the University of Maryland and is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts (NFMA) and the Southern Municipal Finance Society. She has worked in investment management since 1992.
Carlos Catoya
Portfolio Manager, Head of Investment Grade Credit Research

Carlos Catoya is a portfolio manager and head of investment grade credit research at Seix Investment Advisors, an affiliated manager of Virtus Investment Partners, where he focuses on the corporate bond sector. He is also a member of the Seix Investment Policy Group.
Before joining Seix in 2001, Mr. Catoya was a vice president of the global banking energy group at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), and responsible for rating agency relationships. Previously, he was director and group leader of Standard & Poor’s oil and gas corporate ratings team. Mr. Catoya was responsible for the ratings of independent oil and gas producers, refiners and marketers, and oilfield service companies. In addition, he led the corporate rating team’s input into rating decisions for certain sovereign and selected project finance ratings. Prior to joining the rating agency, he was a commercial banker having served in different analytical and lending relationship manager capacities as an officer at Credit Suisse U.S. and First Fidelity (now Wells Fargo).
Mr. Catoya earned a B.S., magna cum laude, from Rutgers University and an M.B.A. in finance, with a concentration in international business, and accounting, with a concentration in financial statement analysis, from New York University. He has worked in the investment management industry since 1987.
James FitzPatrick, CFA
Managing Director, Head of Leveraged Finance Trading, Portfolio Manager

James FitzPatrick is a managing director, head of leveraged finance trading, and a high yield portfolio manager at Seix Investment Advisors, an affiliated manager of Virtus Investment Partners.
Mr. FitzPatrick joined Seix in 1997 with a background in fixed income analysis and trading, and served as an analyst, co-portfolio manager, and head trader in the mortgage-backed securities group. In 2002, he joined the firm’s high yield group as a trader and was later named head of the high yield trading team. Before joining Seix, Mr. FitzPatrick was with Prudential Securities, where he handled corporate, government, and mortgage trades as well as settlement and portfolio administration.
Mr. FitzPatrick earned a B.A. in marketing from the University of Delaware. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation. Mr. FitzPatrick has worked in investment management since 1996.
Vincent Flanagan
Portfolio Manager, Senior Leveraged Finance Research Analyst

Vince Flanagan is a portfolio manager and senior leveraged finance research analyst at Seix Investment Advisors, an affiliated manager of Virtus Investment Partners. In his role as senior leveraged finance research analyst, he focuses on the media and technology sectors.
Mr. Flanagan joined Seix in 2006, and became a portfolio manager in 2011 to assist in the management of the floating rate mutual fund. Previously, he was director of research for Assurant, Inc., covering the telecommunications, cable/media, utility, and broadcasting industries. He began his career at TD Securities, advancing to a senior high yield research analyst, where he focused on U.S. and Canadian wireless carriers.
Mr. Flanagan earned a B.S. in finance from New York University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation. He has worked in investment management since 1997.
Phillip Hooks, CFA
Director, Portfolio Manager, and Municipal Credit Research Analyst

Phillip Hooks is a portfolio manager and research analyst for tax-exempt portfolios at Seix Investment Advisors, an affiliated manager of Virtus Investment Partners. He is responsible for setting credit policy and exposure limits, performing credit analysis on current and prospective holdings, and making relative value investment recommendations for issuers in the municipal bond market.
Before joining Seix’s predecessor firm in 2009, Mr. Hooks worked as a municipal analyst for Evergreen Investment Management Company where he served as the lead analyst for several mutual funds.
Mr. Hooks earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Florida, holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation, and is a member of the CFA Society of Orlando. He began his career in the investment industry in 2005.
Michael Kirkpatrick is a managing director and senior portfolio manager at Seix Investment Advisors, an affiliated manager of Virtus Investment Partners. He is also a member of the Seix Investment Policy Group, which determines Seix’s asset allocation policy.
Prior to joining Seix in 2002, Mr. Kirkpatrick was a senior analyst with Oppenheimer Funds, Inc., covering the telecommunications and cable industries. He was previously vice president and co-head of research at BNY Capital Markets, Inc., where he held responsibility for the telecommunications and consumer-related industries. Prior to that, he was at Mendham Capital Group as a managing partner in high yield research where he focused on consumer-related industries.
Mr. Kirkpatrick earned a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Delaware School of Engineering and an M.B.A. from Rutgers University. He has worked in investment management since 1991.
Michael Rieger is a managing director and senior portfolio manager at Seix Investment Advisors, an affiliated manager of Virtus Investment Partners, where he focuses on the securitized sector. He is also a member of the Seix Investment Policy Group.
Prior to joining Seix in 2007, Mr. Rieger was a portfolio manager at AIG Global Investment, where he managed an asset-backed securities portfolio covering the full rating spectrum in addition to non-agency senior residential mortgage-backed securities (MBS), adjustable-rate senior mortgage portfolios, and international AAA residential MBS portfolios. He began his investment management career as an analyst in Aetna Life and Casualty’s Portfolio Hedging Group.
Mr. Rieger earned a B.A., cum laude, in mathematics from Dartmouth College. He has worked in investment management since 1986.
Jonathan Yozzo
Portfolio Manager, Head of Investment Grade Corporate Bond Trading

Prior to joining Seix in 2000, Mr. Yozzo was a natural gas commodities broker at PVM Oil Associates, responsible for brokerage of domestic natural gas products and foreign and domestic crude oil. Previously, he was a member of the capital markets group and energy derivatives group at Prebon Yamane (USA) Inc., responsible for brokerage of short-term euro dollars and forward rate agreements. He also was a sales associate at J.P. Morgan Securities, Inc., working primarily on the investment grade corporate sales desk.
Mr. Yozzo earned a B.S. in history from Syracuse University. He began working in the investment management industry in 1991.
Eric Guevara
Head of Leveraged Loan Trading and Portfolio Manager

Eric Guevara is head of leveraged loan trading and a portfolio manager at Seix Investment Advisors, an affiliated manager of Virtus Investment Partners.
Mr. Guevara joined Seix in 2000 as a trade flow administrator, serving as a junior trader in the Investment Grade Group from 2001 to 2006, before moving into his position in the High Yield Leveraged Loan Group. Prior to joining Seix, he worked at MetLife® Securities as an equity trade assistant.
Mr. Guevara earned a B.S. in computer operations from Seton Hall University. He has worked in the investment industry since 2000.
